Fox 'News' Slander - 'Obama's Baby Mama'

Fox "News" might have to learn the hard way that there is a difference between sarcasm and slander.

On the heels of the "terrorist fist jab" incident, the Fair & Balanced network ran a segment today in which it referred to Michelle Obama as "Obama's Baby Mama."

Salon's War Room has the scoop.

An alert reader wrote in just a little while ago to let us know about something he'd spotted on Fox News Wednesday afternoon. During a segment discussing conservative attacks against Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, the network described the former as "Obama's baby mama."

I checked, and sure enough, as you can see below, our e-mailer was right. In fact, that description was displayed on screen several times during the segment, which featured anchor Megyn Kelly and conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, an FNC contributor.
Fox "News" has proven over and over again that it operates outside the bounds of human decency. It is the unfettered, electronic id of the conservative movement. That is its identity and its purpose.

Likewise, the network has demonstrated time and time again that it recognizes no restraints in its pursuit of the most inflammatory attacks on the person and character of Barack Obama.

But this something else altogether. This goes beyond the right wing's pathetic fondness for attacking the wives of Democratic presidential candidates. This is an expression of blatant racism toward a potential first lady of the United States; yes, a potential black first lady of the United States.

What's next - calling her a "nappy-headed ho?"

Fox "News" is about to learn the meaning of the word "backlash."
