Wow

Well, whattaya know? Easy come, easy go.

PARTY princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather - appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences - axed her inheritance.

Family patriarch Barron Hilton was already embarrassed by his granddaughter's wild behaviour - notably when her home sex video was leaked on the internet.

But the 79-year-old considered her 23-day sentence last month the last straw.

"He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris," says Jerry Oppenheimer, who wrote a biography of the clan called House Of Hilton.

"He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family."
Good for Grampa Hilton. Little Paris' parents are apparently not worth the name, so somebody had to step in.

The story says he's leaving $2.4 billion to charity, rather than to his degenerate kin.

Larry King; Michael Moore; Paris Hilton

When I read that Larry King was going to conduct the first post-jail interview with Paris Hilton, I thought "yeah, that's about right." NBC and ABC passed on the interview after, depending on who you believe, the Hilton family insisted on getting paid for the chat; or NBC News got embarrassed after the network's entertainment division agreed to pony up, and ABC decided to stay away from the mess altogether.

At any rate, if the world must endure an interview with Paris Hilton, Larry King Live is about as appropriate a venue as exists.

What I didn't know when I read the first story about LKL's big get is that they bumped Michael Moore in order make room for the empty-headed heiress.

CNN, the “most trusted name in Paris news,” continues to sink to new lows in its “assault on reason.” Hilton is the latest “serial obsession,” though the network recently hired a reporter devoted to “covering things like Britney, as well as the Michael Jackson memorabilia.” Now CNN has ditched coverage of America’s broken health care system in favor of an hour-long interview of an incarcerated socialite.

ThinkProgress spoke with Moore’s team, who confirmed that CNN has not yet rescheduled the interview. SiCKO, which opens nationwide this Friday, sheds light on the health care crisis that the media covers poorly, when it covers it at all.
You think Larry is even able to appreciate the irony?

Back to the joint with you!

It's jail. Nobody wants to be there. That's why it's a punishment for breaking the law.

Screaming Paris Hilton Sent Back to Jail
    The Associated Press
    Friday, June 8, 2007; 3:21 PM

LOS ANGELES -- Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying Friday seconds after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

"It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.
Next time, princess, don't violate probation. But don't worry, it might not be all that bad.

Paris Hilton

I was in a restaurant today that had Fox "News" on the TV, and by my estimate the roundtable of journalists spent roughly 15 minutes talking about Paris Hilton. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but that's how long the lower-third graphic with her name on it was up on the screen. Bill Hemmer, formerly of CNN, looked miserable.

Anyway, my favorite commentary about the soon-to-be jailbird is from Heather and Jessica.

Poor P. Pooooooooooooor little P. Prison clothes don't come in leopard, sweet pea. And you probably won't get to use all that makeup, either, but it's just as well, because it makes you look like a wax figurine. As for Josh, don't worry -- he disappeared before your hearing, although I'm sure that was PURE coincidence. But just as a tip for the future, girlie, sometimes guys get sick of dating girls who just can't seem to remember to stop drinking and driving.

Also, seriously, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. For real. And don't then keep driving without a license. How hard is that to remember? Maybe you can sweet-talk Bertha into tattooing it to your arm.

At any rate, refill all your prescriptions, Men of Hollywood, and leave no ointment or salve behind. Paris has a month left before 45 days in the clink, and you know she will spend it throwing as many bratwursts onto the grill as she possibly can.
Heh.
