VoteVets targets Cornyn over GI Bill

It is way past time to point out that for Republicans, "Support the Troops" is nothing more than a campaign slogan.



Supporting the troops means more than slapping another yellow ribbon magnet on your SUV. It means more than insisting that the best way to honor them is to "let them win" without bothering to say what that means. And it means a lot more than sending them back for five tours of duty in a conflict that never should have started in the first place.

It's time for the Republicans' free ride on this issue to end. I'm happy to see it start with a Bush lackey like John Cornyn.
