Leahy to Clinton: Enough, already

Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy is, to my knowledge, the first Democrat with national stature to explicitly urge Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the primary race.

And he says it with a rose in one hand and a claw hammer in the other.

"There is no way that Senator Clinton is going to win enough delegates to get the nomination. She ought to withdraw and she ought to be backing Senator Obama. Now, obviously that's a decision that only she can make frankly I feel that she would have a tremendous career in the Senate."
The implication being that if she sees this through to the bitter end, she might not have a tremendous career in the Senate.

No, we're not bitter about John McCain winning the White House! We just don't think the Armed Services committee is a good fit for you anymore. You'll be very happy at the Joint Committee on Printing. They're a good bunch of folks.
