Bill Clinton says we need to 'slow down our economy'

UPDATED

Expect some major walk-back from the Clinton camp on this:

Former President Bill Clinton was in Denver, Colorado, stumping for his wife yesterday.

In a long, and interesting speech, he characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: "We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren."
Obviously,a major initiative to reduce greenhouse gases would slow the economy down temporarily to some degree. But as John McCain learned in Michigan, voters don't like to hear anything but the rosiest of economic predictions, even if they are lies. And in the heat of a presidential campaign in which Hillary's leads are narrowing by the day in Super Tuesday states, this rhetorical misstep might force her to yank Bill off the stump altogether.

UPDATE

Speaking of walk-back...
