UPDATED
I don't post at Daily Kos very often anymore, but I still try to check the site at least once a day.
I have no plans to attend this year's Yearly Kos convention, but it burns me up that Fox "News" propagandist Bill O'Reilly succeeded in bullying JetBlue into disavowing the conference. It angers me because it is inherently unjust, and because it gives that dishonest thug the opportunity to gloat.
This is the most shameless kind of demagoguery. One of the liberal blogosphere's most valuable contributions to our political discourse is shining a light on the lying tactics of conservative windsuckers like Bill O'Reilly. He is a bully in every sense of the word - he can throw a punch, but he can't take one. He cannot forgive liberal blogs like Daily Kos for turning him into an object of ridicule. So, he cajoles his geriatric devotees, most of whom probably have no idea what blogs are, into writing letters to JetBlue, threatening to never fly with them again if they continue to sponsor those awful people who are mean to Mr. O'Reilly.
Shame on JetBlue for caving in to this petty, transparent act of revenge from Bill O'Reilly. If you share my disappointment in the airline, let them know. Send them a polite, firm e-mail letting them know the degree to which you disagree with their willingness to become a part of O'Reilly's vendetta. If you are so inclined, let them know the degree to which this decision might affect their bottom line.
UPDATE
The JetBlue "Speak Up" webpage does not appear to have a "General Feedback" e-mail feature. It limits user e-mails to specific categories, and when I tried it, it required me toi enter flight information, which I do not have.
The website does provide a toll-free phone number, however: 1-800-JETBLUE; and you can reach their corporate communication department via their Press Room webpage.
