I have written before about my belief that Republicanism is a form of mental illness.
It turns out that I was right. A new scientific study confirms my suspicion that Bush supporters and other Republicans are literally crazy.
[Christopher] Lohse, a social work master’s student at Southern Connecticut State University, says he has proven what many progressives have probably suspected for years: a direct link between mental illness and support for President Bush.Lohse says psychotics prefer authoritarian leaders. The more disconnected they are from reality, it seems, the more they need someone to define reality for them.
Lohse says his study is no joke. The thesis draws on a survey of 69 psychiatric outpatients in three Connecticut locations during the 2004 presidential election. Lohse’s study, backed by SCSU Psychology professor Jaak Rakfeldt and statistician Misty Ginacola, found a correlation between the severity of a person’s psychosis and their preferences for president: The more psychotic the voter, the more likely they were to vote for Bush.
“Bush supporters had significantly less knowledge about current issues, government and politics than those who supported Kerry,” the study says.I feel so validated.
Lohse says the trend isn’t unique to Bush: A 1977 study by Frumkin & Ibrahim found psychiatric patients preferred Nixon over McGovern in the 1972 election.

Nope, you're still wrong. The study proves no such thing. Not only is the sampling size, location and time frame scientifically unsound, but the conclusions you and other far-left fruitcakes are drawing are completely illegitimate. (Not only that, but these are OUTPATIENTS who are undoubtedly on medications to help keep them sane, thus the actual conclusion is that saner people support President Bush.)
Nope, sorry.
Bush supporters are crazy. And, by crazy, I mean frothing-at-the-mouth, eye-rolling, babbling-like-a-loon CUH-RAY-ZEE!!! CRAZY! Whoo-hoo! Ugga bugga, boogedy boogedy boo!
I can understand your impulse to deny the truth, Jason, but you have to accept it. Admission of the problem is the first step toward a cure. You have to admit that you are powerless over George W. Bush.
And, you have to admit that you're crazy.
George W. Bush gives mental illnesses a bad name.
Jack Inghoff,
Um... what is an "ashole."
For that matter, what does the word "craxy" mean?
I couldn't find either one in the dictionary.
having actually worked in the mental health field on an actual inpatient nut ward- i can say with conviction that schizophrenic patients have god complexes, and high feelings of religiousity. they also hear voices speaking to them and telling them what to do. i leave you to draw your own conclusions. :) looks like you made some folks frothing at the mouth angry :)
