Frist tries to pre-empt Feingold

Dr. Fristus was just recognized to argue against Sen. Feingold's censure resolution before it is even introduced. Frist and Sarbanes are now going back and forth arguing about whether there should be an immediate vote on the resolution tonight. He wants it to be voted on with absolutely no debate. All the better to prevent evidence against Bush from being entered into the record, I presume.

The intellectual and moral dishonesty of Bill Frist is just breathtaking. He began by characterzing censure as a weakening of Bush's powers to conduct foreign policy during wartime. He went on to insist, in contradiction of all available evidence, that Bush's illegal surveillance program is, in fact, legal.

Now, Frist is trying to restrict the amount of time for the censure resolution.

What kinds of people are these Republicans? Why do they believe that Bush merits such protection from the people's representatives?

It is hard not to hate them.
