I think I might have done a Britney & Kevin post once. I guess it's time for a Nick & Jessica entry about their ugly, vicious, nasty divorce. Reportedly, Nick is asking for spousal support.

While Nick claims they officially parted ways on December 13, Jessica is sticking to a November 23 breakup date. And there's nearly one million at stake on that detail alone!

"That's really important because on December 5, Jessica Simpson made $850,000 in a private concert," Levin explained. "Nick is entitled to half that amount."

A source in Nick's camp told "Extra" that his date of separation is different because he was hoping to reconcile.

The couple did not have a pre-nup, so should Jessica, who made an estimated $35 million last year alone, pay up? People magazine's Mike Fleeman said that based on the fact that Nick is asking for his jewelry back, it's going to be a fight to the finish.

Jessica Simpson earned $35 million last year? Wow. All those people who insist we return to the gold standard for our legal tender are missing the boat. Apparently, breasts are the most valuable currency in the world. Too bad you can't buy shares on the futures market.

For someone whose made-for-TV marriage was the key to reviving her failed career as a Britney Spears clone, you'd think Ms. Simpson would be a little more gracious to her soon-to-be ex. But, it looks like ol' Nick is gonna squeeze out every drop he can. Good for him. It's not as if he'll ever work again.
