Violence rising in Iraq - Bush plans a speech

President Bush seems to believe the problem in Iraq is a lack of support for his war among Americans.

The Washington Post reports:

In a push to boost public support for his Iraq policy, Bush will give a speech on Oct. 6. Vice President Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice also will give major foreign policy addresses over the next week.
Sorry, Mr. President, but the tide has turned against your war. It will not turn back, no matter how many speeches you give. The only thing you can say that anyone wants to hear is a clear exit strategy. Otherwise, you might as well not bother.
