Times Select has, for all intents and purposes, shut down the Unofficial Paul Krugman Archive. The site used to post the text of Krugman's columns a couple of days after they appeared in the paper.
The last such column was, if I am not mistaken, the first one published after the implementation of the Times' pay wall. No longer.
The PK Archive links now to Times Select.
I would love to know how much revenue this feature is generating for the NYT. Whatever the paper is gaining financially, it is certainly losing in influence. When is the last time the web was abuzz about something written by PK, MoDo, Bob Herbert or even Tom Friedman?
