The editorial board of The Shreveport Times wonders whether Congressman Jim McCrery's loyalties lie with whom they are supposed to lie. This comes after the liberal-leaning Campaign for America's Future began a major media offensive against McCrery, who is the chairman of the House Ways & Means Social Security Subcommittee.
McCrery affirms his desire to "preserve the financial safety net for the elderly," but he veers too far from the keep-an-open-mind zone by adding that he will "not be deterred in helping President Bush do what is right for our country.''McCrery, along with every other GOP congressman, should have to answer this question: do you serve the citizens of your district, or do you serve George W. Bush?
