Gay-panic defense in priest-beating case

A Marine reservist who beat a Greek Orthodox priest with a tire iron is invoking the gay-panic defense to justify his crime.

Initially, he claimed he thought the man was a terrorist. He even said he heard the Christian cleric say "Allahu Akbar."

Now, Jason Bruce and his lawyer are trying to defend the attack by claiming the priest, who speaks very little English, made a verbal and physical sexual advance toward him.

According to Brown the following series of events took place:

The bearded man wearing a robe and sandals was clearly trespassing in the garage. In a sudden move, the stranger made a verbal sexual advance and grabbed Bruce's genitals. The Marine defended himself. And immediately, he called 911 as he chased him.
Brown is actually trying to peddle a gay Islamic Arab rapist terrorist defense. Brown's argument is a gross example of shameful lawyering.
Pathetic. If he actually testifies about this under oath, I hope he ends up convicted of perjury in addition to assault.
