Cluelessness You Can Believe In

Oh, this is even worse than I thought.

For all the criticism that Sarah Palin has received for simply repeating the same scripted talking points over and over again, this interview with a Maine TV station demonstrates that John McCain himself is doing no more than that.

The clip is actually uncomfortable to watch.

McCain either has no idea who Sarah Palin is, or he is comfortable telling obvious lies to people who know they are lies. He continues to repeat the fabricated stories about her reform efforts in Alaska as though they have not been debunked repeatedly by the news media. He actually repeated the line about Alaska being next door to Russia! Either he really believes that this accident of plate tectonics amounts to foreign policy experience, or he is a sociopath. No one with a conscience and the sense God gave a turnip could sit there and say things like that and expect people to believe it.

He didn't give one answer that didn't come from his standard stump speech. Not one!

He was a POW, though, so maybe I'm overreacting.
