'A Platitude'

Does John McCain really think the way to prevail in this political climate is to run against hope?

"To encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope," McCain said. "It is a platitude."
If you're against hope, what are you for? Resignation? Dread?

He might want to ask Hillary how that tactic's working out for her before he pins his *ahem* hopes on it.

And he really must keep John Warner out of the shot the next time he's on TV. It ain't for nothing that Hillary replaced Madeleine Albright with a bunch of telegenic college kids.
