Stay classy, John Gibson

The Fox "News" host plays Heath Ledger's death for laughs.

Playing an audio clip of the iconic quote, “I wish I knew how to quit you” from Ledger’s gay romance movie Brokeback Mountain, Gibson disdainfully quipped, “Well, he found out how to quit you.” Laughing, Gibson then played another clip from Brokeback Mountain in which Ledger said, “We’re dead,” followed by his own, mocking “We’re dead” before playing the clip again.
And they said wit died with Noel Coward.

UPDATE

Meanwhile, those crazy people from that nuthouse church that hates gays plan to picket Ledger's memorial services because he played a gay man in a movie one time.

Topeka's Westboro Baptist church says it intends to protest Heath Ledger's memorial service because he played a gay character in "Brokeback Mountain."

In a news release from the church, Shirley Phelps-Roper says that she and other members will picket Ledger's memorial services in the United States, not those held in his native Australia.

"You cannot live in defiance of God," she said. "He got on that big screen with a big, fat message: God is a liar and it's OK to be gay."
I don't recall anybody in Brokeback Mountain saying that God was a liar, or that it was okay to be gay. And it's not even as though things turned out all that well for the characters. Frankly, the message I took from the film was that people are who they are, for good or bad.

Gee, it sounds like Ms. Phelps-Roper is criticizing a movie she never even bothered to see. That couldn't be, could it?

Don't these people have anything better to do?
