Fred for VP?

Thompson advisor starts tilling the soil.

Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson dropped out of the race Tuesday and, according to a top adviser, can now position himself as a vice presidential candidate.

[Rich Galen] said Thompson could end up as vice president because he could mitigate the conservative shortcomings of potential nominees such as Rudy Giuliani.

"Having somebody like Thompson on the ticket, it seems to me, could go a long way toward unifying and energizing the base," Galen told The Examiner.
Fred Thompson ran the most enervated presidential campaign I have ever seen. Who the heck is he going to energize?
