Larry Craig

I don't really know what to make of the statement Craig read during his press appearance.

He was all over the map. He blamed the Idaho Statesman for conducting a witch hunt against him, even though the newspaper didn't publish anything about his alleged same-sex activities until the news emerged of his arrest and guilty plea for the incident in Minnesota. He insisted he did nothing wrong, and that his guilty plea was an instance of poor judgment, but failed to explain exactly why he would plead guilty to something he did not do. I mean, the guy is a United States senator. He didn't understand a document that he signed asserting his guilt in a misdemeanor sex crime?

And that "I am not gay, and have never been gay" remark was just bizarre.

Then, to top it all off, he announced that he would be happy to discuss the matter with the press... and immediately walked away without answering any questions.

This is not the behavior of someone with nothing to hide.

I don't know whether to laugh at him or cry over the state of this country. A person who obviously has a problem with homosexuals trolling the airport bathrooms for a quick hook up? If he were the only one, ever, we could just shake our heads and move on, but this keeps happening and it is always to the most out spoken anti-gay republicans. Do you think maybe he WAS gay and then was brainwashed into believing he wasn't?
