Cyclone Gonu misses Oman's oil infrastructure

Whew!

CRUDE oil fell from a nine-month high in New York after Cyclone Gonu missed oil and gas platforms near Oman's coast.

The storm is dissipating after sweeping across coastal Oman and Iran. At least 28 people were reported killed in the two countries.

"The cyclone in the Persian Gulf is pretty much history," Edward Meir, an analyst at Man Financial in Darien, Connecticut, wrote in a report.

"There were no reports of any oil-related damages in the wake of the storm."
