D.L. Hughley; Rutgers Women's Basketball Team

The blog What About Our Daughters? wants to know why the usual suspects have yet to call for the silencing/boycotting/firing/ostracization of D.L. Hughley for saying what Don Imus said about the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team

"There were some nappy headed women on the team and those are some of the ugliest women I have ever seen in my life.”

    DL HUGHLEY on Jay Leno.
Where is the outcry from mainstream media, the African American community, or all these people that called for Imus' head on a platter? D.L's last show got canceled so there isn't anyone to boycott. Was it really worth the laugh? Those young women are somebody's daughters. Any ideas?

How can you be complaining about illiteracy rates in the African American community and the state of black America in one breath and then tear down and malign young women who took up the challenge to pursue higher education.
I would like to know the same thing. Where is everybody?

g-e-m2001 says she forwarded this item to Media Matters. A search at MMFA for the term "Hughley" turns up nothing.

Don Imus was crucified for using crude racist and sexist insults to demean the outstanding student-athletes of Rutgers. Where is everybody with regard to Hughley?

Hello, Reverend Al? David Brock? General Motors? Anybody?

Is it okay because Hughley is black? It certainly shouldn't be.
