"Red America" death watch

I haven't jumped in on the Washington Post "Red America" blogswarm on this page so far, although I have enjoyed reading the deconstruction of the whole mess from bloggers better than I.

I'm not making any predictions, but I don't think this little experiment is going to last long. To begin with, that boy just cannot write. To call his WaPo entries "pedestrian" does not even cover it. It is some of the weakest writing I have ever seen, completely uninteresting.

I also notice that the kid has not posted anything on the blog since 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, and that was a few paragraphs of O'Reilly-esque haranguing about some child who was or was not brain-dead, or something.

So, we've passed the 24-hour mark without a posting on what is arguably the highest-profile blog page of the week. I mean, if there is a blog that anybody is discussing more than this one, I don't know what it is. Nothing since 1:07 p.m., yesterday. Heck, even a part-time blogger with a full-time day job should be able to manage more content than that in 24 hours. That brain-dead-kid post couldn't have drained all of his batteries, could it? Does he have no juice left at all?

If I was the Post, I might start to wonder if I was getting my money's worth out of young Ben.

UPDATE

No sooner did I click "Publish Post" than the kid apparently added two entries to "Red America" within the space of five minutes. One is a defense of his having called Coretta Scott King a communist during his Red State days. The other is about the need for the Republican Party to do a better job of reaching out to ethnic minorities.
UPDATE II
Yeah, I think we're just about done here.
