Limbaugh attacks rescued peace activists

In a previous post, I noted the good news from Iraq regarding the rescue of three Christian peace activists who had been taken captive by insurgents.

I noted also that this good news would likely anger right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh. This observation was based on remarks he made at the time of the activists' capture that there was a part of him that liked it.

LIMBAUGH: [A]s warped as these people are, you know they're going to blame Bush for this. ... They wouldn't have been kidnapped because they wouldn't have been there in the first place if Bush hadn't gone and caused the war and created all these terrorists. I mean, these people are liberals, they're warped. Well, I mean, that's why there's -- I'm telling you, folks, there's a part of me that likes this. Probably, even with this, though, you know, they're not going to see the light of day..."
I was right. As Media Matters notes, Limbaugh took the occasion of their rescue to blast the activists all over again.

LIMBAUGH: I mean, but, you know, that is exactly right. What you have nailed here is that these self-absorbed, self-inflated, self-important people have made this all about them. They've -- they -- they try to take every -- and I think this goes back to childhood. I think it goes back to the way they were raised. I think it goes back to a whole lot of things in their early days. Everything is about them. They want to be the focus of attention, and they don't mind taking the military off path and out of its mission, and they have no appreciation for it in the first place. I mean, just, totally ungrateful. It -- it's offensive.
What a horrible, horrible person. He needs some love and warmth in his life. Would somebody give the man a hug, please?
