Thirty! Four! Percent!

Yowza!

The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34 percent, while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.

Americans are also overwhelmingly opposed to the Bush-backed deal giving a Dubai-owned company operational control over six major U.S. ports. Seven in 10 Americans, including 58 percent of Republicans, say they're opposed to the agreement.
Or, to put it another way, 66 percent of Americans are now what Chris Matthews would describe as "whack-jobs."

One wonders if this will put enough spine in the Republican congress to hold the line against Bush on the ports deal, especially considering today's news that the U.S. Coast Guard did, indeed, express security doubts about DP World.

But, hey, the news for Bush isn't all bad. At least he's more popular than Cheney. Big Time's approval rating clocks in at a whopping 18 percent.
