President Clinton is speaking now at Mrs. King's funeral.
She was, he says, not just a symbol. She was a woman.
He reminds us that, after her husband was killed, nobody could have blamed Coretta Scott King for deciding she had given enough to the civil rights movement and going home to raise her kids. Instead, she took up the mantle.
"Most of us," he says, "are too afraid to live the lives that we are called to live." Mrs. King was not afraid.
"We don't have to be afraid. We can follow in her steps."
"I, for one, am grateful for her life and her friendship."
Great stuff. With the notable exception of Dr. King himself, the guy is the best speaker I have ever heard.
