Intelligent Design in Kansas

The AP reports that state education officials in Kansas have approved language casting doubt on the theory of evolution.

The board's 6-4 vote, expected for months, was a victory for intelligent design advocates who helped draft the standards. Intelligent design holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power.
The rest of the world's developed and developing nations recognize the need to educate their populations to face the challenges of the 21st century. How ironic is it that the United States has to fight battles over the legitimacy of science itself?
