Congressional Republicans are not buying into Bush's plan for the reconstruction of New Orleans. The problem? It seems to be more of an idea than an actual plan.
Trying to allay mounting concerns, White House budget director Joshua B. Bolten met with Republican senators for an hour after their regular Tuesday lunch. Senators emerged to say they were annoyed by the lack of concrete ideas for paying the Hurricane Katrina bill.Very entertaining?
"Very entertaining," Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said sarcastically as he left the session. "I haven't heard any specifics from the administration."
Nice, but where were your sacasm and skepticism when we could have used them, Senator McCain? They might have come in handy during the 2004 presidential campaign, for example. You could have put them to good use during the Democratic National Convention. You could have been our Zell Miller. Except, you know, not completely insane.

McCain may once have been a respectable moderate but no longer after 2004. He sold his soul to the Devil of Dumb.
By the way, what is it with Bush and hiring incompetent guys named Bolten/Bolton?
