Deep Impact - Pure Genius

First of all, how cool is this?

The Deep Impact craft traveled 83-million miles through the vastness of space to find this small, moving target and then, without human guidance, managed to collide with the comet. That's right. Mission control had no control over the probe after it separated from its vehicle. It traveled the last 5-thousand miles or so on its own.

It just boggles the mind to think of the pure mathematical genius that went into planning and executing this feat.

Heck, I'm almost as impressed by the fact that we have pictures of it as I am by the event itself.

Way to go, folks!
