When I posted an item last week about the phony FEMA press conference, somebody left a comment under the name "Jeff Gannon."
Yeah, I had the same reaction: "Oh, look. Some yahoo thinks he's being funny by signing his comment 'Jeff Gannon.' Get a life."
This morning, I actually got around to reading the comment, and clicked through one of the links. Lo, and behold! The comment that "Jeff Gannon" left on my post is identical to an item on the blog belonging to Jeff Gannon, of male-prostitute-White-House-press-pass fame.
When I learned of the fake news conference, I expected that the characterization of Jeff Gannon as a “phony reporter” would be revived. Liberal media activist Keith Olbermann noted it on his nightly train wreck of a talk show and the lefties of the blogosphere dutifully repeated it ad nauseum. This is a classic case of how a lie becomes reality, since the record proves otherwise. I was as real as a reporter gets, writing over 500 articles as a White House correspondent, a job that Secret Service records indicate I actually showed up for more than 200 times over the course of two years.I have to give him this: he is at least as real a reporter as the ones who lobbed softball questions at their boss during the phony FEMA press conference. I'm not sure what that is worth, but there you go.

Thank you for drawing attention to my comment. However you neglected to include this part: In 2006 – a year after my supposed exposure as a “phony reporter” - my peers accepted me into the National Press Club, the most prestigious association of professional journalists in the world. My book about the media will be featured at the National Press Club’s 30th annual book fair on November 1. Not bad for a “fake, fraud and phony.”
Hey UncommonSense ...
I got the same comment ... He must have gone around and spam commented everyone who called him (excuse me, identified him) as a fake reporter
Here's a riff I did on it;
