Debbie Schlussel - Bigot, Coward, Idiot

Even before the smoke from Cho Seung-Hui's gun barrels had cleared, as soon as we learned via the news media that the suspect was an "Asian male," a right-wing blogger named Debbie Schlussel began forcing the Virginia Tech tragedy into one of the GOP's favorite narratives: Islamic terrorism.

Here's what we know about the murderer of at least 32 students and maimer of at least 28 more at Virginia Tech, today:

* The murderer has been identified by law enforcement and media reports as "a young Asian male."

* The Virginia Tech campus has a very large Muslim community, many of which are from Pakistan (per terrorism investigator Bill Warner).

* Pakis are considered "Asian."

* There were 2 attacks at least half a mile apart.

* There have been at least two bomb threats to this campus in the last two weeks
Apparently, Ms. Schlussel couldn't handle the heat after Media Matters, among others, called attention to her paranoid, bigoted rantings. She has, in fact, attempted to obliterate the evidence of said rantings.

I've removed this entry, mostly because I am spending too much time monitoring the slimy comments from the Nazi-infested Media Matters for America cretins.
Huh? "Nazis?" Wha...?

Note to Debbie: thanks to Google Cache, dear, the evidence never disappears. Next time, think before you post.

By the way, here is a fun item from Atrios regarding Li'l Debbie:

Every morning, Tammy Haddad, executive producer of MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews," hears from more than 100 aspiring commentators. They each explain why they'd be the perfect guest to spout off on the issues of the day. "We call them 'street meat,' " says Ms. Haddad. "They're always available, walking the streets, waiting for your call on their cellphones."

They are the minor-league pundits -- political consultants, professors, activists, actors, journalists, bloggers and opinionated civilians -- and they're using 21st-century stunts to troll for airtime. Some try to break out of the blogs by repeating particular phrases in their written rants, designed to pop their sites up when TV bookers search for keywords online. Others are buying air time on AM and Internet radio stations to practice their punditry. And many are turning to media advisers or partisan training programs, where they learn new rules of engagement, such as how to use food to bribe producers. The ploys can work, as networks like CNN regularly survey the field, looking for new contributors.

Debbie Schlussel, 37 years old, supports her pundit habit by practicing commercial law in suburban Detroit. She is among the most proactive B-list pundits. Almost daily, she emails her appearance schedule, availability or sharp-elbowed conservative commentaries to 5,000 people in media and politics.
...

So far this year, Ms. Schlussel has appeared on more than 600 radio shows and 35 TV programs, she says. But while Ms. Coulter, America's most-famous blonde pundit, earns millions, the also-blonde Ms. Schlussel has earned well under $10,000 this year from her punditry, she says. Still, Ms. Schlussel feels momentum: Her online fan clubs have grown to 5,496 members.
Proactive B-list pundits.

I tell ya...

the other nice thing that has been happening- news orgs deleting misinformation from their archives. james fallows did a piece about the reporter who 'broke' the story that the shooter was chinese. almost nothing remains anywhere about this mis-step. apparently, since all 'asians' look alike- the media has no responsibility to get pesky things like facts straight. bigots indeed.

I wanted to die laughing when I read in the Det. News editorial section when they called a chubby Ann Coulter wannabe that should be ingored.

This new blog named www.themuslimwatch.com has an interesting write up about her.
