"Arrested Development" Coming Back

Yay!

Fox has renewed "Arrested Development" for a third FULL season.

The quirky comedy had been considered a long shot to make the network's fall schedule, which will be announced on Thursday. While it won the Emmy for best comedy in its first season, ``Arrested Development'' has rarely attracted more than 7 million viewers even though Fox gave it a boost this past season by scheduling it after ``The Simpsons.''

The show's fate appeared to be sealed when the network cut its season down to just 18 episodes and pulled it out of its Sunday lineup for May sweeps. It was widely believed that the series' only chance for another season was on a cable channel such as Comedy Central.

But on Monday, Peter Liguori -- the new president of Fox Entertainment -- said that `` `Arrested Development' is one of the best comedies on television. The decision to order another season becomes easy when you consider its amazing cast, creative brilliance, critical acclaim and advertiser appeal.''
I lost "The Ben Stiller Show," "Homicide: Life on the Street," and so many others. But, I will get to keep "Arrested Development" at least for awhile longer.

Sigh of relief.
